Beginning on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Mary Kay began its “Orange You Lovely” campaign. The company is encouraging customers to sport their “Orange You Lovely” At Play® Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balm in support of women and children who have been affected by domestic violence.

Orange YOUR Neighbourhood

This ties in with the United Nations Secretary General’s UNiTE campaign to End Violence Against Women, with a global request to “Orange Your Neighbourhood.” Known as The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, the period of time between the International Day for the Elimination Against Women (November 25) and Human Rights Day (December 10) is reserved for all to display the color orange and even tie orange ribbons on landmarks. The idea is that orange is a bold color sure to catch attention and raise awareness. Additionally, groups will come together in order to successfully orange their neighborhoods.

Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation

In addition to encouraging orange lip balm, Mary Kay does much more to support women. Each year, the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation donates $10,000 to a women’s shelter or outreach program in Canada. Additionally, the Beauty That Counts® program donates millions from the sale of limited edition items to organizations that improve the lives of women and children.
