Cosmoprof Country of HonourLast week was Cosmoprof Asia Hong Kong, marking the 20th anniversary of the global fair. This year, the United States was chosen as one of two “countries of honour,” and the Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors (ICMAD) association represented our nation at the three-day event.

ICMAD President and CEO Pamela J. Busiek joined BolognaFiere CEO and President Duccio Campagnoli, and UBM Asia Executive Vice President Michael Duck in opening the show on Nov. 11 at the Hong Kong Convention Centre with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

“We have all watched Cosmoprof Asia successfully grow.  Companies of all sizes, large and small, have found great opportunity to grow their business on the Asian continent through the business platform Cosmoprof Asia has offered,” said Busiek. “The exposure and networking opportunities, along with the exhibitor and attendee quality, have produced a successful formula to advance many companies and improve business opportunities. Our exhibiting and attending companies over the 20 years say, ‘thank you!'”

ICMAD also acted as a key event host, with support from ICMAD member companies including East Hill Industries, Inc. Part of the festivities included a “Red Party” reception which featured cocktails, networking, a fashion show, and makeup contributed by ICMAD member company NYX Cosmetics.

Additionally, ICMAD presented an educational panel on “Doing Business in the World’s Most Important Markets” with CEO Busiek and ICMAD Board Secretary and General Counsel Sharon Blinkoff, of Locke Lord, LLP. ICMAD also provided resources and tools from Booth #1E J7 D in the U.S. Pavilion, thanks to freight sponsor and ICMAD member company, Masterpiece International, (Chicago/New York).
